I like the idea of these two meeting places being integrated as the overall tranquility and calmness of the sea meeting the sky in a bar would be interesting. A view from inside the boat shed could be composed in a way that makes the boat shed meet the sky and sea in the same gradual transition.
The reflective floors teamed with lights in the ceiling could mimic the sky reflecting on the sea. Another aspect of the meeting place of sea meets sky is the aspect that it is always changing. A moving installation would show this. The flooring needs to be reflective to pick up the changing of the lights in the roof. A somewhat inflatable light sculpture or light weight moving strings would work.
This installation in Vancouver is a set of strong string like material that moves in a pattern. It is interactive through an app that viewers can download. Viewers can then draw on the sculpture using coloured lights.
