Selected Drawings Week 3.

For these selected drawings I have taken screen shots from my rough sketch up model and added textures to show the general atmosphere I am trying to portray in this installation.

Elevation view of the outside. Based on a glasshouse as a glasshouse creates a atmosphere for plant growth and the mimics seasons best suited for plant growth.

Plan view of installation.

Perspective view of the installation. I have extended the part in which the tree comes up through so I can incorporate the seasons that go between summer and winter as the viewer travels up the stairs.

View of the overall look of the installation for the meetings of the seasons. The tree in the centre rotates to represent the constant earth rotation that is essential for the meeting of the seasons. The upper level is the level closest to the representation to summer and is therefore warmer. The lower level where you enter is the level representing winter and has the atmospheric characteristics of winter such as cool temperature and winds.

View of lower 'cool' winter level.
